DictionHelper.com™ exists to be in service to young singers and their teachers, providing
downloadable recordings of foreign-language texts for use in preparing classical solo
songs for auditions, competitions, or ongoing vocal study
Mission

Our mission is to help young singers, and those who work with them.

Perhaps no other aspect of the song preparation process is as time-consuming as learning
to pronounce the foreign-language diction.  Now, lesson time can be used more efficiently,
and students have a trusted tool to use and practice with independently, between lessons.

We serve young singers (also those of any age who are new to singing) who may
have limited knowledge and experience with lyric diction in the languages in question.
We serve voice teachers who seek to maximize their effectiveness in the studio.
We serve choral directors who act as the primary voice instructor for many of their
students.  Perhaps some of your languages are rusty, or perhaps your schedule is
"maxed out."  Give your students the advantage of an expert language coach, at a
fraction of the cost.
We seek to encourage independent learning.
We seek to create greater efficiency in preparation, and in the expenditure of valuable
time.
We seek to inspire students and teachers to rediscover the joy of singing and the
possibility of peak performance at the student's current level.

Why Use Us?  Because we're your BEST Resource!

DictionHelper.com™ is a targeted tool for a particular stage of the process of learning a song.
The tool maximizes the efficiency of practicing and learning foreign-language song diction,
especially for young singers and those who are new to singing serious vocal literature in
foreign languages.

It's fast!  Instantly find a song, download the mp3, and it's yours.
It's convenient!  Any time you or your student wants to review or practice the
pronunciation, just listen to the recording.  No waiting until the next lesson, losing
valuable practice time or risking practicing an incorrect concept.  Available 24/7/365.
It's flexible!  We suggest listening several times while watching the musical score.
Then, chant or speak along with the recordings.  Stop and start as often as you like to
practice difficult passages.  As you become more familiar with the text, vary the speed to
develop fluidity.  You'll devise your own ways to practice that work for you.
It's efficient!  If you are a choral director with many students to prepare, your
time is at a premium.  Languages may not be your strong suit.  DictionHelper.com
allows you to work within your strengths, save time, and delegate the diction to a trusted
source.  If you are a voice teacher, why not encourage your students to be as
prepared as possible before each voice lesson?  Spend less time nagging, more time
enjoying the polishing, musicianship, technique, and interpretive aspects of the voice
lesson.  If you are a singer, we at DictionHelper.com are here to help you
prepare one aspect of your best possible performance.  End wasted time and
frustration in practicing.  Enjoy your new abilities as you perfect the diction of your
foreign-languages songs.
It's collaborative!  Continue to work with your teacher/coach to refine and polish the
diction, making necessary vowel modifications for your vocal range.  DictionHelper.
com is your "entry level" to learning the pronunciation.  The possibilities for
improvement are limitless!
It's responsive!  If a song from your repertoire is not in our database, just fill out our
"Feedback" form and submit it.  We'll do our best to add your song and make the
recording available.  We'll email you once it's added to our library, so you can return and
download it at that time.  And if, GOD FORBID, you should find a MISTAKE i the
pronunciation, please let us know about that, as well.  We will correct the mistake and
send you a new, corrected download at no charge.
It's inexpensive!  At just $1.99 per download, each recording includes two "tracks:"  a
one-syllable per beat reading at slow tempo, and a reading in the musical rhythm of the
song.  Most recordings are between 5 and 8 minutes long.  You'd pay a language coach
upwards of $40 per hour for this instruction, so use DictionHelper.com!
